HOW TO GET HERE

FROM ABROAD, BY PLANE, to Paris, Lyon, Geneva or Nîmes.
Then car or train as described below.

BY CAR:
Visitors from the USA: Be sure to book your car and make payment arrangements
from the US, as this will result in savings of up to 60%!

STAGE ONE: TO VALS LES BAINS

From Geneva, you may take either the Lyon or the Grenoble route.
Either way, you will drive past Valence.
Then proceed according to directions from Paris or Lyon.

From Paris or Lyon, follow Autoroutes A6 and/or A7 towards Marseilles, and, after Valence,
take the Loriol or [if you miss it] Montélimar exit [either North or South] from the A7,
follow signs to Aubenas [Privas will be signposted first if taking the Loriol exit],
then to Vals-les-Bains. See further down for directions
from Vals to the Auberge du Troubadour.

From Nîmes, head north towards Alès, thence to Aubenas and proceed to Vals as above.

Coming from south western France or Spain: Via Montpellier, Marseilles,
take the A7 North to Montélimar Sud or Nord, then follow signs for Aubenas,
on to Vals as above.
If coming across the Massif Central and Auvergne, at Mende take the N102
and follow it to Vals, [a left turn over the bridge, well before Aubenas!].

STAGE TWO: FROM VALS LES BAINS TO LE PLOT

From Vals, follow signs to Le Cheylard; you want the D 578, which goes past Antraigues.

Le Plot is between Vals and Antraigues, high above a village called Le Raccourci.

The hamlet is reached either by a small road that starts just after Asperjoc le Rigaudel,
a hairpin bend to the left off the main road
with several small signs on a post, including Le Plot.
Note that this is well before Le Raccourci!
If you get as far as Le Raccourci, continue to the Antraigues/Pont l’Huile crossroads
rather than attempting to turn around.

Once you are on the correct road, after about 1.5 km you will come to a triple fork -
Le Plot is once again signposted. Take the road that goes straight ahead and down].
Le Plot is the first right after the fork [2 km from main road],
and when you can drive no further, you’ve arrived!

You can go as far as the Antraigues/Pont l’Huile crossroads,
turn left over the little Pont l'Huile and take the small road signposted to Cupiat
[a sharp left turn about 150 meters after the bridge, at the Petit Chopineur Bistro crossing].
Le Plot is the first left after Cupiat [3 km from crossroads].

Approximate driving times, (one person driving with short coffee breaks),
under "normal" traffic conditions
[i.e. not on the Friday, Saturday or Sunday around July 1, July 15,
August 1 and August 30 when all of France is on the move!]:
From Paris Orly Airport, 6 hours
From Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, 7 hours
From Geneva Airport, 3.5 hours
From Lyon, 2.5 hours, from Lyon St. Exupéry Airport, allow 3 hours
From Nîmes Airport, 2 - 2.5 hours.

BY TRAIN:
To Valence Ville or Valence TGV, or to Montélimar Ville.
Then by bus/coach [in front of railway station] to Vals-les-Bains
[a change is sometimes required in Aubenas].
We will pick you up from Vals or Aubenas depending on timetables.
